Duties
Help

• You order the material using the shipyard material procurement system.
• You will provide technical assistance for and prepare procedures for conducting tests on various electrical equipment and systems.
• You will provide technical assistance in performing analysis and calculations associated with project designs.
• You will provide all electrical drawings/instructions, special equipment and modifications to install a specific system in a specified space.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience providing design experience and technical working knowledge of engineering aspects unique to nuclear powered aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines.
• Experience applying electrical engineering concepts and principles applicable to conventional projects.
• Experience evaluating and applying the latest development and techniques in solving some problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted methods.
• Experience providing system and component installation or repair information, ensuring specification compliance, and investigating and analyzing any variety of electrical problems and providing corrective action recommendations.
