To thrive as a Remote Music Producer, you need a solid background in music theory, audio production, and experience with arranging and mixing music, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Mastery of digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or Pro Tools, along with familiarity with collaboration platforms and audio plugins, is essential. Strong communication, self-motivation, and time management skills help you collaborate effectively with artists and clients from a distance. These abilities ensure high-quality music production, efficient remote teamwork, and successful project delivery in a virtual environment.

What Are the Qualifications to Get a Remote Music Job?

The qualifications that you need to start a remote music job vary depending on your area of specialization and your job responsibilities. Most jobs require musical skills as a basic qualification. To become a work from home musician, producer, or songwriter, you need a portfolio of past work to play for prospective clients and employers. A music teacher may need a license to teach if they work for an online public school. A music therapist should obtain a bachelor’s degree in music therapy and board certification. In all of these positions, you need to learn to use recording software and maintain recording equipment in your work location.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

Remote music jobs such as online music teaching, composing, or producing can generate significant income if you build a strong client base and develop specialized skills. What are remote music jobs?

Remote music jobs are positions within the music industry that can be performed from any location, rather than requiring work at a specific site like a studio or office. These jobs can include roles such as music producers, sound engineers, composers, music teachers, lyricists, and music marketers, all of whom can collaborate and complete tasks online. Remote music jobs have become more accessible thanks to digital audio workstations, cloud collaboration tools, and virtual meeting platforms, making it easier for music professionals to work with clients and teams worldwide.

What jobs make 10,000 a month without a degree?

Remote music-related jobs such as music producers, sound engineers, or online music instructors can earn $10,000 or more per month, especially with established client bases or high-demand skills. Success often depends on experience, reputation, and proficiency with digital audio workstations and online platforms.

Can I actually get paid to listen to music?

Remote music-related jobs, such as music reviewers or playlist curators, can pay individuals for listening to and evaluating music. These roles often require good listening skills, attention to detail, and sometimes familiarity with music platforms or tools; compensation varies depending on the position and employer.

How do remote music professionals typically collaborate with other team members or artists?

Remote music professionals often use digital collaboration tools such as DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), cloud storage, and communication platforms to work seamlessly with others. They may participate in virtual songwriting sessions, share audio files for feedback, and coordinate project timelines via video calls or chat apps. Clear communication and strong organizational skills are essential, as team members may be in different time zones. Building a solid workflow for exchanging ideas and files helps maintain creativity and productivity despite the distance.

Job description

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery... the stuff dreams are made of.

Who We Are...

When we say, "the stuff dreams are made of," we're not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD's vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands, are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms and the dreamers creating what's next...

From brilliant creatives, to technology trailblazers, across the globe, WBD offers career defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.

Your New Role...

The Live Remote Sports Director is the creative and technical authority in the production truck on game day. Reporting to the Coordinating Director of Live Remote Productions, this role is responsible for directing all camera, replay, graphics, and audio elements of live and near-live remote sporting events for TNT Sports broadcasts. The Director collaborates closely with Producers, Technical Directors, Associate Directors, and Broadcast Associates to execute production plans that are both strategically sound and visually stunning. This position requires significant travel and a flexible schedule aligned to the live sports calendar.

Role Accountabilities...

  • Serve as the primary creative authority in the production truck, calling all camera cuts, replay sequences, graphics deployments, and transitions during live remote broadcasts.
  • Direct high-profile NHL, MLB, and NCAA events with a consistent, broadcast-quality "look and feel" that upholds TNT Sports standards and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the Producer pre-game to develop and execute a comprehensive production plan, including camera placements, show flow, graphics stings, music cues, and replay priorities.
  • Lead and mentor Associate Directors (ADs) and Broadcast Associates (BAs), providing constructive, real-time coaching that elevates the entire crew.
  • Actively champion the integration of new broadcast technologies, including MFP Productions (Remote Integration) workflows, IP-based production systems, and next-generation replay platforms.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with all departments-engineering, graphics, audio, EVS operators, and league/team media relations-to ensure seamless execution.
  • Think forward: review upcoming games and events in advance and develop production plans that allow operations and engineering teams to prepare thoroughly.
  • Contribute creatively to all show elements including content selection, music, graphics packages, and special production elements for marquee broadcasts.
  • Adapt quickly and calmly in dynamic live-event environments, solving technical and creative challenges without disrupting the broadcast.
  • Maintain awareness of league rules, broadcast rights requirements, and credentialing protocols for all sports properties.
  • Be available for a 24/7 live sports schedule including weekends, holidays, and playoff runs as required.

Qualifications & Experiences...

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director in remote live sports production at a regional network level or higher.
  • Demonstrated directing experience on NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, or NASCAR broadcasts at a regional network level or higher; experience across multiple TNT Sports properties strongly preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience directing in full large-scale production trucks and MFP production environments.
  • Deep working knowledge of multi-camera production, replay systems (EVS or equivalent), broadcast graphics platforms, and production switchers.
  • Experience with computer-based rundown formats and the ability to read and execute complex show formats under live conditions.
  • Proven ability to remain composed and decisive in high-pressure, fast-moving live broadcast situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead a large crew and build productive relationships with league and team media relations personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop emerging production talent.

Preferred:

  • Experience directing national-level live sports broadcasts for a major network or sports cable property.
  • Familiarity with IP-based broadcast workflows and cloud-based production tools.
  • Experience directing both regular-season and playoff/championship-level events.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with a track record of proposing and adopting new production techniques or technologies.

HOW TO APPLY

Are you ready to take the director's chair on the biggest stages in live sports? We want to hear from you.

Submit your application-including a current resume and a link to a recent directing reel or highlight package. In your cover letter, please tell us about a live broadcast moment that challenged you and how you responded. Applications without a reel or highlight package will not be considered.

How We Get Things Done...

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
