Job description

The Senior Data Product Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle of data products that enable analytics, interoperability, and business insights across the enterprise. This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, product management, and technology, driving adoption of modern data platforms and ensuring data products deliver measurable business value at scale. The Senior Data Product Manager balances strategic foresight with executional rigor, identifying emerging opportunities, shaping long-term roadmaps and ensuring delivery of data and analytics solutions that advance business goals and improve customer outcomes. 

Salary range: $116,644-151,637 plus 10% bonus

Remote hires will be required to travel to our headquarters in Ankeny, IA (company paid) on their first day for orientation.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
  • With the VP, Data & Analytics, define and communicate the vision for data products aligned with business value; maintain and evolve a multi-year roadmap ensuring alignment with company goals, market opportunities and user needs
  • Develop, maintain and ensure alignment for a product roadmap for data platform and analytics capabilities
  • Prioritize features based on ROI, user needs, and technical feasibility
  • Conduct user research, validate assumptions, and translate insights into actionable product requirements
  • Drive discovery & user research: uncover unmet needs, validate assumptions, and embed insights into data product direction
  • Own the research to delivery loop: Translate insights into initiatives, define clear success metrics, and ensure delivery teams build features that address validated needs
  • Scalability: Drive platform strategy, ensuring solutions are scalable, configurable, secure, and compliant
  • Adoption and optimization: Build upon our modern tech stack, leveraging Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and dbt for scalable data processing and transformation
  • Partner on integration strategies leveraging MuleSoft for real-time and batch data flows
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between data products and BI tools like Power BI
  • Stay ahead of industry shifts: Track SaaS, healthcare tech, and regulatory trends, incorporating insights into forward-looking data product planning
  • Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical specifications
  • Manage backlog, sprints, and release cycles in Agile environments; ensure timely delivery of features that meet quality and compliance standards
  • Lead cross-functional delivery: Partner closely with engineering, design, operations, compliance, and go-to-market teams to ensure aligned execution
  • Partner with governance teams to enforce lineage, cataloging, and security standards; ensure HIPAA/GDPR compliance
  • Enable experimentation & growth: Design and oversee A/B tests, pilots, and phased rollouts to evaluate product impact and accelerate learning
  • Focus on adoption & retention: Monitor product utilization, user retention and other product performance measures such as user satisfaction or operational efficiency, and iterate based on analytics and user feedback
  • Act as the voice of the customer, gathering requirements and validating solutions
  • Manage complex trade-offs: Drive stakeholder alignment on sequencing, prioritization, and resourcing in a way that balances short-term delivery and long-term vision
  • Mentor & coach: Provide guidance and development opportunities for product owners, business analysts, and other team members
  • Communicate product updates and insights to executives and cross-functional teams


Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • 7+ years in product management or product management certification, with at least 3 years focused on driving data products from strategy through adoption
  • Experience in healthcare or adjacent regulated industries and healthcare data and analytics products
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, dbt
  • Data Integration: MuleSoft, APIs, batch/real-time flows
  • BI Tools and data visualization best practices: Power BI, dashboard design, KPI frameworks
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, and data modeling concepts
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret data to inform decisions
  • Proven ability to define product vision, create roadmaps, and manage lifecycle
  • Proven ability to drive adoption, retention and measurable user value
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), backlog management and sprint planning
  • Excellent communication, alignment and influence skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong strategic, analytical and decision-making skills; ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term vision
  • Strong business acumen, with experience making ROI-driven prioritization decisions
  • Systems thinker who can zoom-in on details while keeping a strategic perspective

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative or business discipline
  • Certifications in Azure, Databricks, or Power BI

  • Experience implementing Unity Catalog, Purview, or similar governance tools
  • Exposure to AI/ML productization and advanced analytics
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data products
  • Background in healthcare operations and delivery
