Medical Science Liaison, Cardiovascular (Pacific Northwest/Northern California)
Serving as a field-based extension of the Company, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and their recently approved PCSK9 inhibitor, therapy indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise: to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with hypercholesterolemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH).
Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the MSL role are included, but are not limited to the following:
- Engage in meaningful scientific discussions with external stakeholders, both about the disease state as well as the scientific evidence supporting the Company’s products/portfolio.
- Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.) by acting as a liaison between external stakeholders and the Company’s internal stakeholders.
- Assess KOL alignment with the key elements of the scientific platform to inform territory and medical strategy..
- Stay abreast of emerging scientific literature/clinical data and translate the data in applicable knowledge exchange.
- Collect scientific and clinical insights to support ongoing information/clinical data sharing (i.e. new data, competitive information, insights learned from customer) to optimize communications and coordinated activities across the organization.
- Thrive in a small company environment and adapt to the dynamic nature of a growing organization.
- Ability to travel, up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific, clinical, or healthcare-related degree preferred (MD, DNP, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, MSN, or equivalent). Other degrees may be considered based on relevant experience.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs, or a cardiovascular-focused clinical setting required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong scientific foundation and working knowledge of cardiovascular disease states. Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of medicine, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, customer strategies, and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to access and develop relationships with high-level stakeholders
- Ability to effectively communicate scientific content through 1:1 meetings, small group interactions, and in writing.
- Must be a strong team player and effectively collaborate with internal departments.
