A remote MSN nurse is a registered nurse who has earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and works from a location outside of a traditional healthcare facility, often from home. These nurses use telehealth technology to provide patient care, education, and consultation, and may perform roles such as nurse practitioner, educator, or case manager. What are some common challenges faced by remote MSN nurses and how can they be addressed?

Remote MSN Nurses often encounter challenges such as maintaining effective communication with patients and care teams, managing time zones, and ensuring patient privacy in a virtual environment. To address these, it's important to develop strong telehealth communication skills, use secure technology platforms, and set clear boundaries for work hours. Many organizations provide training and support to help remote nurses adapt to digital workflows and maintain a high standard of care.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) Medical Surgical Nurse works as the catalyst for patient centered care by leading a well-coordinated care team. The VIC RN is at the center of innovation and a transformational, evidence based practice care model. The experienced RN in this role will anticipate and direct the care of the patient through evaluating health promotion, risk reduction and clinical decision-making. The Nurse assumes accountability for client care outcomes through the assimilation and application of evidence based practice to design, implement, and evaluate client plans of care in a virtual environment setting. This role functions as the center of coordination and communication for a multidisciplinary team. A high degree of professional competence and autonomy will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) clinician, 2) educator, 3) consultant/collaborator, 4) leader. The VIC RN will function as a dynamic change leader for this transformational care model. As our Virtual Care RN, you will revolutionize patient care, leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver expert nursing guidance across our health system.

Every day, you will provide real-time virtual inter-collaborative nursing assistance to on-site care teams nationwide. From admissions to transfers, to transitions of care and vital support tasks, you'll apply your seasoned skills to diverse patient needs, ensuring no two days are alike.
