Larson Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our integrated care team. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments to determine the presence and impact of co-occurring disorders, ensuring an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with clients to co-create individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based methodologies, addressing both mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Deliver high-quality individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on developing coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and relapse prevention techniques tailored to client needs.
  • Work in tandem with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and nursing staff to coordinate care and provide holistic treatment tailored to clients’ specific circumstances.
  • Engage in regular monitoring of clients’ substance use and utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage progress and sustained recovery.
  • Educate clients and their families on the interplay between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of adherence to treatment regimens.
  • Ensure detailed and timely documentation of treatment progress, interventions, and referrals, complying with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing case conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge regarding co-occurring disorder treatment approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Larson Counseling Center, you will work primarily with adults experiencing mental health challenges alongside substance use disorders. The diverse population encompasses individuals from varying backgrounds, each requiring tailored interventions and support. Your expertise will be pivotal in breaking the cycle of addiction and mental health issues, helping clients achieve sustainable recovery and improved quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Florida.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing evidence-based therapies specifically designed for treating co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Robust understanding of the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, with the ability to navigate complex client needs effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills aimed at promoting collaboration within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in an integrated care setting, particularly with clients facing co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation standards related to mental health treatment.
  • Background in conducting group therapy sessions and skills training for clients.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications. In addition, successful candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Our benefits package includes:
