Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance abuse history and mental health status, enabling the development of accurate treatment plans.
  • Creating personalized treatment plans that specifically address clients' addiction and co-occurring mental health issues, ensuring measurable goals and interventions.
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Collaboration with other treatment team members, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to provide integrated care and support to clients.
  • Involving clients' families in the recovery process through education, guiding them on how to support their loved ones effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records in compliance with state regulations and clinical best practices.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling and evidence-based practices for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
