Details:
Sr. Business Intelligence Developer (BI Developer)
Location: Remote
Duration: Full time / Direct Hire
Position Summary: The BI Developer is responsible for supporting the business areas and clients by developing business intelligence solutions leveraging the Microsoft technology platform (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI, and Azure tools).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop complex SQL stored procedures/views as required
  • Create variety of complex reports using approved BI tool, including but not limited to drill down, drill through, tabular, matrix, chart, dashboard, multi parameter reports, etc.
  • Analyze data to provide recommendations to Senior Management of group on issues and improvements
  • Provide advice and guidance on database good practices.
  • Provide input on systems architecture as required.
  • Identify areas and processes where performance can be improved.
  • Make and justify recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuously tune and optimize SQL queries. Ensure that code and other deliverables adhere to company standards.
  • On-call status over weekends and out of office hours is a requirement.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Technical Skills:
To perform this job successfully, the candidate should have strong knowledge of SQL Server 2008, SQL Server Reporting Services, Relational Database Design T-SQL, SQL Server Analysis Services and Excel
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Special skills/abilities/competencies required:
  • Working experience of SQL Server 2017
  • Excellent data analysis skills using SQL
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence solutions: operational and analytical, strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures
  • Working experience of SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Working experience of Power BI or Google Looker
  • Working experience of SQL Server Integration Services is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic thinker
  • Understanding of Mortgage servicing including Loss Mitigation, Collections, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and General Loan Servicing.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal and large group)
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills
  • Problem solving and decision making ability
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with details

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Major field of study: Computer Software Programs preferred. Total years of prior related experience (specify kinds of experience): 5+ years related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably, experience in design, development and maintenance of database/server.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
