Job description

An exciting opportunity at CH Spencer LLC - part of Atlas Copco North America.
Position Summary
Reports to: VP of Sales / BLM
Territory: Western Nevada
Travel: Daily travel throughout Western Nevada with 1-3 overnight trips per month
The Key Account Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining and growing key customer accounts while developing new business throughout Western Nevada. This is a territory-based outside sales role requiring regular travel to mine sites, industrial facilities, and customer locations across the region.This role combines strategic account management with proactive field sales activities, focusing on long-term partnerships, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction. The position involves selling industrial pump equipment, mechanical seals, and related pump system components and services. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, the ability to work in demanding industrial environments (including gold mining operations), and consistent in-person engagement with customers.
Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct outbound sales activities including phone calls, emails, site visits, and participation in industry and community events
  • Generate new leads by actively working within the Western Nevada territory, meeting face-to-face with prospective customers to assess operational needs
  • Call on gold mining operations, processing facilities, contractors, and industrial end users to identify pump system applications and opportunities
  • Meet regularly with existing clients to grow accounts, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall customer experience
  • Schedule and manage follow-up calls, site visits, meetings, and action steps to keep prospects and clients progressing through the sales pipeline
  • Research accounts and customer operations to understand process flows, pumping applications, maintenance challenges, and capital project opportunities
  • Build and maintain rapport with maintenance managers, reliability engineers, procurement teams, and plant leadership
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to provide informed recommendations on centrifugal pumps, slurry pumps, vertical turbine pumps, mechanical seals, and other pump-related equipment
  • Assist customers in troubleshooting pump system issues and coordinate with internal technical and service teams for proper solutions
  • Collaborate with inside sales, engineering, and service teams to ensure smooth order execution and a positive customer experience
  • Manage territory activity, forecasts, and account planning to consistently meet or exceed sales targets

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in outside sales with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
  • Experience calling on mining customers, particularly gold mining operations (preferred)
  • Technical aptitude with ability to understand industrial pump applications and mechanical systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a travel-intensive, field-based role
  • Strong time management and territory planning skills
  • Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented
  • BA/BS or Engineering degree preferred

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements
This field-based role requires regular travel throughout Western Nevada, including remote mine sites and industrial facilities. Candidates must be able to drive long distances, walk job sites, stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and work safely in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments. The position may involve lifting and moving industrial pump components and equipment, as well as performing computer-based work and using hands for various tasks in office and field settings.
