Job description

Industry: Electrical Construction | Utility Infrastructure | Airfield Lighting Systems

Location: Remote with Travel Throughout the Southeast
Travel: 50-60% Overnight Travel

Direct Hire:

TRC has partnered with our client withing the airport electrical and navigational aid construction industry to identify an Electrician who can support estimating, project management, and field operations across electrical infrastructure projects throughout the Southeastern United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician looking to expand into project leadership while remaining actively involved in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical construction background, experience reading plans and specifications, and the ability to manage projects from estimating through project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.

  • Assist with bid preparation and proposal development.

  • Support value engineering and constructability reviews.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.

  • Manage electrical projects from award through closeout.

  • Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials.

  • Track project budgets, labor productivity, and job costs.

  • Prepare and manage change orders.

  • Review RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.

  • Serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and field teams.

  • Support project billing, forecasting, and project closeout activities.

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and project standards.

  • Perform electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.

  • Install underground conduit systems, electrical distribution equipment, and airfield lighting systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Supervise field crews when assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with NEC standards, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.

  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and project turnover.

Qualifications
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.

  • 5+ years of commercial, industrial, utility, or airfield electrical construction experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Experience with underground utilities, electrical distribution systems, or airfield lighting systems is highly preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 50-60% travel throughout the Southeastern United States.

  • Overnight travel required based on project workload.

  • Company vehicle or travel reimbursement provided.

  • Lodging and per diem available per company policy.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass background and drug screening requirements.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentials required for airport, municipal, military, and infrastructure projects.
