Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to oversee SQA activities such as test planning, test documentation, reviews, tracking and reporting on testing results to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Modernization initiative. This position is responsible for testing, customer and resource management, self-service request management, sustainment, and cloud migration. This position is fully remote, located in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the performance of SQA Testing, provide clarification and assistance required to complete the testing, assure that all testing is completed, and all test results are reported.
  • Report all findings and test incidences in a testing status report and the Defect Log.
  • Work closely with development team to develop and execute test strategies, plans, and test cases based on requirements.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, smoke, and end-to-end testing across web, API, cloud, and database environments.
  • Build and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Selenium WebDriver and Visual Studio tools.
  • Conduct API and web-services testing using SOAPUI, Postman, and XML/JSON validation.
  • Perform accessibility testing per Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 AA standards using JAWS.
  • Execute backend testing in SQL Server.
  • Conduct cloud-focused QA activities within Azure environments.
  • Participate in CI/CD workflows and version control using GitHub and related DevOps tools.
  • Execute performance, load, and stress tests using JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Document test results, manage defects, and ensure traceability using ALM, JIRA, RTC, and Confluence.
  • Support UAT planning, execution, and reporting, including incident and compliance documentation.
  • Perform production validation and post-release quality checks.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, security, data governance, and accessibility requirements throughout testing.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field. (or commensurate experience)
  • 15+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in healthcare, finance, government, or technology environments.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and frameworks such as Jira, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
