Key Responsibilities

• Conduct secure and confidential virtual therapy sessions with clients, utilizing telehealth platforms to facilitate effective communication and connection.
• Perform in-depth assessments of clients’ relational dynamics, mental health issues, and family contexts to develop tailored treatment plans that are measurable and goal-oriented.
• Apply family systems theory and systemic interventions to help clients address their relationship challenges, improve communication, and manage family stressors efficiently.
• Provide immediate support and crisis intervention when necessary to ensure the safety and stability of clients and their families.
• Maintain accurate electronic records, including client progress notes and treatment plans, while adhering to legal and ethical standards of confidentiality.
• Educate clients on effective communication techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and coping mechanisms to foster healthier relationships.
• Collaborate seamlessly with fellow therapists and mental health professionals virtually to ensure comprehensive care and support networks for clients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities and stay updated on the latest research and best practices in marriage and family therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Remote LMFT at New Horizons, you will work with a diverse client population that includes individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Qualifications

• Possess a current license to practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Texas.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required, although a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of direct experience in marriage and family therapy or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, particularly in a remote working environment.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and effective time management in a virtual setting.
• Flexibility to schedule sessions that accommodate clients across various time zones.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering therapeutic services remotely is highly favored.

Compensation and Benefits
