Description

We invite you to consider joining our team to reduce preterm births and equitably improve maternal and birth outcomes across Ohio.

Launched in 2008, the Ohio Perinatal Quality Collaborative (OPQC) is a statewide consortium of perinatal clinicians, hospitals, and policy makers and governmental entities that aims, through the use of improvement science, to reduce preterm births and improve maternal and birth outcomes across Ohio. OPQC involves subject matter experts, uses successful evidence-informed strategies, and employs data-driven quality improvement methods and well-accepted project management processes. Success comes from a collaborative approach that builds upon an established network of OPQC-member hospitals with a history of executing successful statewide quality improvement initiatives.

This role will require application of advanced project management methodologies, including ongoing strategic planning, design and development of core infrastructure, and setting priorities and establishing and executing plans for multiple, concurrent projects under the Network’s umbrella. You will be responsible for developing a nimble, multi-disciplinary team of individuals across collaborating organizations. A propensity to learn and adapt to the needs and pace of the project is expected, as well as the desire to coach and mentor other project management team members.

This position can be considered for remote work from certain states. Occasional travel could be required.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning
Work with program leadership and project team to develop strategic priorities for the initiative. Work in collaboration to build and manage a system to translate strategies into action, establish goals and objectives, prioritize key objectives and work with the team to meet the goals and objectives. Strategize and recommend infrastructure necessary to execute selected projects & processes.

Project Management

Manage a portfolio of multiple, complex projects across project types (e.g., design, innovation, implementation), stakeholders (patients, clinicians, researchers) and organizations in the network. Develop and manage a nimble, adaptive project structure and governance. Execute projects with urgency to deliver business value. Plan and collaborate with regulatory consultants to ensure the initiative meets regulatory standards (Institutional Review Board, HIPAA compliance, etc.). Successfully plan for and manage project risks and recognize/take action when risks become issues.

Project Management Leadership
Engage partners, stakeholders and sponsors, negotiate project scope as needed, and communicate with partners and sponsors throughout the project. Identify resources needed, such as information, expertise, personnel, and problem-solve gaps. Facilitate teams assigned to the project and direct management of project management resources. Coach and mentor project team members. Understand and successfully perform the role of Supervisor (as appropriate).

Communication & Relationship Management
Analyze project communication needs and generate communication plan to successfully manage communications and relationships with key project stakeholders, both internal and external. Compose, edit, and deliver written and verbal communications tailored to the audience. Facilitate small and large group collaborations. Excellent soft skills to actively listen, build and maintain effective relationships, change at the required pace to meet the project needs, and manage a diverse workforce.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

·Bachelor's degree in a related field

·6 years related experience; including strong understanding of project management methodologies and practical application in a fast-paced environment

·PMP certification

Preferred Qualifications:

· Masters degree in public health or related field

· Experience in healthcare, clinical/public health, or clinical research

· Experience working in or with state organizations.

· Ability to build and foster strong relationships.

· Knowledge of agile project management principles

· Supervisory experience
