Senior Data Engineer – Revenue Cycle Management
100% Remote | U.S.-Based | Healthcare Data & Technology
Location: Remote – Anywhere in the U.S.
Salary: Based on education & experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Time Zone: Must be available for meetings during Arizona business hours
The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer with heavy SQL experience and a strong claims background to help optimize revenue cycle data, systems, and workflows.
This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys working with complex data, identifying trends and issues, and developing solutions that improve claims performance, billing accuracy, reimbursement, and revenue integrity.
You’ll collaborate with Data & Analytics, Finance, Billing, Operations, EHR, and leadership teams while providing technical expertise and guidance to RCM configuration staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Use advanced SQL to analyze large datasets, identify trends, investigate issues, and support RCM reporting.
  • Analyze claims, denials, payer requirements, billing workflows, reimbursement, and revenue leakage.
  • Translate business and billing requirements into technical specifications and data solutions.
  • Develop testing scenarios and validate claims, billing, payer, and system changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, claims performance, and revenue cycle effectiveness.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and validate solutions.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to assigned RCM configuration staff.
What We're Looking For
Required
  • Heavy, hands-on SQL experience
  • Strong/heavy claims experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, claims, revenue cycle, billing systems, EHR configuration, payer systems, or related technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with complex data and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly revenue cycle, billing, EHR, payer systems, or healthcare analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience with behavioral health data or workflows.
