Job description

A highly respected boutique litigation firm with a national practice representing contractors, businesses, and institutional clients is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join their team in a fully remote role. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced litigator to step into sophisticated state and federal litigation, work directly with firm leadership, and build toward a long-term partnership opportunity in a collaborative, entrepreneurial practice.
What You'll Do as the Senior Litigation Attorney:
  • Independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Handle sophisticated commercial, construction, and government-related disputes in both state and federal courts
  • Develop litigation strategy, draft dispositive motions, and prepare persuasive legal arguments
  • Lead depositions, motion practice, evidentiary hearings, and trial preparation
  • Serve as second chair at trial, with opportunities to assume first-chair responsibilities
  • Prepare and examine witnesses while developing effective trial strategy
  • Build trusted relationships with sophisticated clients and serve as their primary legal advisor throughout litigation
  • Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships
  • Play a meaningful role in the firm's continued growth and future leadership

Must-Haves as the Senior Litigation Attorney:
  • 5+ years of sophisticated commercial litigation, construction litigation, or closely related litigation experience
  • Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters from beginning to end
  • Strong motion practice, deposition, and courtroom experience
  • Second-chair trial experience required
  • First-chair trial experience strongly preferred
  • Experience representing sophisticated commercial, government, contractor, or institutional clients
  • Background with a nationally recognized or highly respected regional law firm
  • Minimum of 3 years with a Top 200 or similarly respected law firm
  • Senior Associate, Counsel, or Partner-level experience
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and client communication skills
  • Juris Doctor from a well-regarded law school

Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Litigation Attorney:
  • Construction litigation experience
  • Government contracts litigation experience
  • Court of Federal Claims experience
  • Washington, DC Bar admission
  • Additional East Coast bar admission
  • Portable book of business

  • Base salary of $175,000-$220,000, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates
