The Remote Medical Scribe and Remote Medical Transcriptionist roles both support healthcare documentation but differ in focus. Scribes actively document patient encounters in real-time within EMR systems, often requiring healthcare knowledge or certification. Transcriptionists convert audio recordings into written reports, focusing on accuracy of transcribed content. As a remote medical scribe, your job is to take notes and help document each encounter a physician has with a patient. Unlike in-person scribes, remote scribes often transcribe comments from recordings provided by the physician rather than writing things down as they occur. You may add the notes to a chart, help investigate discrepancies in comments, or correct machine transcriptions. Remote medical scribes sometimes perform other clerical tasks to help reduce the time physicians need to spend on paperwork. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $86,500 - $149,600Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
