Responsibilities
  • Manage the quoting and marketing process for new commercial lines opportunities.
  • Review submissions received from producers and account managers for completeness and marketability.
  • Determine whether an account is best suited for the Standard/Admitted market or the Excess & Surplus (E&S)/Non-Admitted market.
  • Identify the most appropriate insurance carriers, wholesalers, MGAs, and specialty markets based on class of business, underwriting appetite, coverage needs, loss history, and pricing.
  • Prepare and submit applications, supplemental applications, loss runs, exposure information, and other required underwriting documentation.
  • Quote new business through carrier portals, comparative raters, direct carrier submissions, wholesalers, MGAs, and brokerage partners.
  • Market accounts to multiple appropriate markets when necessary to obtain competitive options.
  • Communicate with standard carrier underwriters, E&S underwriters, wholesalers, and brokers regarding submissions, underwriting questions, pricing, and coverage options.
  • Negotiate with markets when appropriate to obtain favorable terms and conditions for the client.
  • Compare quotes for pricing, coverage, deductibles, exclusions, endorsements, subjectivities, minimum earned premiums, and other important differences.
  • Clearly communicate differences between Standard/Admitted and E&S/Non-Admitted options when presenting alternatives to the producer.
  • Provide producers with organized quote comparisons and recommendations to assist with presenting options to prospects.
  • Maintain accurate records of submissions, quotes, declinations, and market responses in the agency management system.
  • Work with internal account manager and producers to establish a renewal remarketing schedule that allows adequate time to approach to remarket to other carriers.
  • Obtain updated applications, loss runs, payroll, sales, property values, vehicle schedules, driver information, and other exposure information needed for remarketing.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines insurance.
  • Education: Property & Casualty Insurance License.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Agency Management System experience & Microsoft Office.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, contributing positively to team dynamics and supporting colleagues as needed.
  • Customer Focused: Passionate about providing exceptional service and building long-term client relationships.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
