Position Overview

Thrive Mental Health Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a full-time capacity, working from a remote setting. This position plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive mental health care within a Detox Center, focusing on the assessment and treatment of patients struggling with addiction and related mental health issues.

About the Organization

At Thrive Mental Health Services, we are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals battling mental health and substance use disorders. Our interdisciplinary team approaches treatment holistically, emphasizing evidence-based practices and community collaboration. Located in Syracuse, New York, we serve diverse populations and foster a supportive environment that encourages recovery and personal growth.

This remote position is embedded within a Detox Center, an environment that requires professionals to address urgent mental health and substance use challenges. As a member of our remote team, you will engage with patients virtually, utilizing digital tools to deliver care while maintaining a strong connection to the mission of our organization. The work setting promotes flexibility, allowing you to manage your schedule effectively while making a significant impact in patientsโ€™ lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document thorough biopsychosocial assessments that address mental health, substance abuse, and medical needs, ensuring each evaluation is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate.
  • Deliver a range of behavioral health services including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and comprehensive evaluations to guide effective care.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to escalate patient concerns, ensuring timely intervention and appropriate follow-up for those at risk.
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions that promote healing and recovery, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to engage participants effectively.
  • Provide social work support and act as a liaison for patients, connecting them with community resources such as medication assistance programs, housing, and vocational services.
  • Work closely with Quality Improvement teams to develop and refine processes for data collection aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this position is on individuals, couples, and families affected by addiction and mental health disorders. You will work with patients from diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of substance use issues, including those in withdrawal or seeking stabilization. Understanding the nuances of each patient's unique challenges will allow you to tailor interventions that facilitate effective recovery pathways.

Qualifications
  • A valid and active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of New York.
  • A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with at least three (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced counseling techniques and crisis management, with the ability to make independent judgments regarding patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and for engaging with patients.
Preferred Experience
  • Clinical experience in substance abuse treatment settings, particularly within detox or rehabilitation environments.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans based on best practices.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
  • Familiarity with community resources and social services in the Syracuse area to effectively assist patients.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to a stimulating work environment, we provide a robust benefits package, including:

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance options
  • Generous paid time off policy to promote work-life balance
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuing education support
