Remote Medical Copywriter information

What does a remote medical copywriter do?

A Remote Medical Copywriter creates clear, accurate, and engaging written content about medical topics for various audiences, such as healthcare professionals, patients, or the general public. They often work from home, collaborating with healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical companies, or medical agencies to produce materials like articles, website content, or promotional pieces. Their work requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to translate complex scientific information into accessible language. Additionally, remote medical copywriters must follow strict regulatory guidelines and ensure all content is factually correct and compliant.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote medical copywriter?

To thrive as a Remote Medical Copywriter, you need a strong grasp of medical terminology, research skills, and excellent written communication, typically supported by a degree in life sciences, communications, or journalism. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), referencing tools like EndNote, and compliance standards such as AMA or FDA guidelines is often required. Outstanding attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to translate complex medical concepts into clear, engaging content are crucial soft skills. These abilities ensure the production of accurate, compelling materials that educate, inform, and meet regulatory standards in the healthcare industry.

How do remote medical copywriters typically collaborate with subject matter experts and healthcare professionals while working off-site?

Remote Medical Copywriters often work closely with doctors, researchers, and regulatory teams through virtual meetings, email, and collaborative platforms. Effective communication is essential to ensure accuracy and clarity, especially when translating complex medical data into accessible content. Building strong relationships remotely can be challenging, but using scheduled check-ins and shared project management tools helps maintain alignment and streamline feedback. This collaborative approach ensures the produced materials meet both scientific standards and client expectations.

Job description

About Us

At BGBx, we're driven by a simple idea: breakthrough thinking creates breakthrough impact. As an independent commercial solutions partner to pharmaceutical and life science companies, we bring together strategists, scientists, communicators, creatives, technologists, and data experts to tackle some of healthcare's most important challenges.

Our teams work across consulting and communications to help clients shape strategy, launch innovations, engage stakeholders, and drive meaningful results throughout the product lifecycle. The work is complex, fast-moving, and deeply connected to improving lives, creating opportunities for curious minds to make a real difference every day.

If you're energized by collaboration, inspired by innovation, and motivated by work that matters, you'll find a place to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact at BGBx.

Position Overview

Everything BGB does is driven by a passion for creativity and science. As an Associate Copywriter you will have the chance to contribute to projects for both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and the direct-to-patient (DTP) audience. You will also have the chance to be part of our growing promotional healthcare division.

Role Requirements:

  • • Support Copy Supervisors and Associate Creative Directors across both HCP and DTP accounts
  • • Work closely with Art Directors and/or Digital group on a variety of different projects
  • • Develop copy for big and small needs: everything from headlines to annotating for medical/legal/ regulatory submissions
  • • Be able to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
  • • Passion to learn and the flexibility to move from project to project

Preferred Qualifications

  • • Industry experience/internships (experience in pharmaceutical industry is not required, interest a plus)
  • • A portfolio featuring writing samples that demonstrate your creativity and writing chops
  • • Bachelor's degree required

Salary: $55,000

This is a remote position. Due to location-specific requirements for this role, we are currently unable to consider candidates residing in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington.

What We Offer

At BGBx, we invest in our people because exceptional talent drives exceptional work. We provide a competitive rewards package designed to support your health, well-being, professional growth, and life outside of work.

Our benefits package typically includes health care insurance, retirement plans, generous paid time off and holidays, wellness benefits, life insurance, learning and development opportunities, and other resources that support our employees throughout their careers.  Additional benefits may be available based on your location.  Beyond benefits, you'll find a culture built on collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare and the people it serves.

BGBx is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any category or class of person protected by law.
