The Billing Project Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing billing-related projects within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments, analyzing billing processes, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in billing operations. The Billing Project Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's billing practices comply with industry regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage billing-related projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and objectives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Billing Process Analysis:

  • Evaluate existing billing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify billing discrepancies and resolve them.
  • Implement process enhancements to optimize billing operations.

Provider Enrollment and Credentialing

  • Manage all aspects of the provider enrollment and credentialing process, including initial applications, re-credentialing, and maintaining provider information in all necessary systems.
  • Accurately complete payor enrollment requests in a timely manner.
  • Follow-up on enrollments in-process (online, telephone, email) and maintain enrollment records through timely documentation

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure billing practices comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Perform audits and quality checks on billing data and documents.
  • Address compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of billing-related projects and activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on project status and outcomes.
  • Communicate project updates and findings to management and stakeholders.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to billing staff on new processes and systems.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to resolve billing-related inquiries and issues.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in billing.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and other departments to achieve project goals.
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork among cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
