Senior Field Service Engineer
Costa Sanders is a leading US supplier of industrial sanding and brushing machines for processing wood, metal, and other surfaces. We are headquartered in Archdale, North Carolina and are part of the Costa network of global sales and service centers.
Costa Sanders is looking for a dynamic, driven individual to become the newest member of its client support and service team. Our client support team covers all areas of after sales support. We provide technical support, spare parts, personnel training, machinery rebuilds, and machinery upgrades. Our trained technical specialists provide technical advice and assistance to Costa customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Our field service engineers install, troubleshoot, and maintain Costa sanding and brushing equipment on-site in our customer's facilities. We are looking for motivated applicants with 5-10 years of experience installing, maintaining and repairing industrial machinery. Interested individuals should possess a broad knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic systems.
The position offers the opportunity for frequent overnight travel throughout the United States. The majority of travel is during the week, with most weekends at home. Mostly first shift work but occasional second shift required.
Costa Sanders provides an extensive training program to new team members. Competitive compensation and company paid benefits provided. All tools required for the position, including company vehicle, are provided or available.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform new equipment installations including, final set-up and assembly, leveling and calibration checks, primary system and safety testing, start up and customer training.
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing machines on-site at customer’s facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance evaluations and calibrations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through quality work performance and effective and timely client communication.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Two year Associates Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics; or specialized training from an intensive technical program; or extensive industrial experience; or equivalent military training or education in the same related fields.
  • Possess 5-10 years of related experience in working on industrial machinery
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and prints.
  • Experience or background in trouble shooting relay logic and PLC controlled systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel in the United States.
  • Possess the ability to qualify for and obtain a U.S. passport.
  • Must be punctual and perform work in a timely manner understanding the importance of time constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Frequent walking, standing and kneeling is required.
  • Employment offer subject to background, MVR and pre-employment drug screen required.
  • Possess skills to independently analyze and problem-solve situations in the field.
  • Adapt to fast-paced environments and changing customers’ needs and expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical field service experience on wide-belt and brush sanding equipment.
  • Basic PLC or programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or Italian languages.
  • Strong computer skills with some background in networks and software support.
