Work Environment

As a Mental Health Virtual Counselor based out of Lees Summit, Missouri, you will be part of an innovative and supportive team that prioritizes client well-being. This 100% remote position allows you to conduct therapy sessions from home, utilizing our state-of-the-art online counseling platform. You will work with clients in a virtual Detox Center setting, ensuring that you have access to the necessary resources to support your therapeutic practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients via secure video chat, creating a safe and welcoming space for emotional exploration.
• Encourage open dialogue, helping clients articulate their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a supportive environment.
• Assist clients in setting realistic and attainable therapeutic goals, monitoring their progress over time.
• Stay alert to behaviors and thought patterns that may impede recovery and offer strategies to mitigate these issues.
• Provide guidance on effective coping mechanisms and self-care practices tailored to each client's unique challenges.
• Regularly update treatment plans based on client progress and emerging needs, ensuring the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve working with stable adult clients experiencing low-acuity mental health concerns. All clients undergo a thorough screening process before joining the platform, ensuring that you can focus on providing meaningful support to those best suited to your areas of expertise. Your work will contribute directly to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of mental health services offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Must hold an independent and unrestricted LCSW license; provisional or limited licenses will not be accepted.
• Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients.
• Proficiency in digital tools and a comfort level with technology for conducting virtual sessions is necessary.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in teletherapy or remote counseling is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with diverse client populations, particularly in settings that involve emotional and psychological support.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 104,000 per year, commensurate with the hours worked and level of experience.
