Overview
LabConnect improves lives by partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and clinical research organizations (CROs) to accelerate the development of new medicines around the world.
We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Job Summary
The following duties are normal for this position; however, they are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare quotations for protocols, bid requests, study revisions and additions using the company's pricing tools.
  • Complete budget to actual reconciliations at predetermined time points over the course of awarded studies.
  • Assist in making recommendations on desirable proposals based on established financial and operational criteria, as required.
  • Inquire with Business Development Directors to ensure that clinical study quotes prepared by Proposal team members are complete and address the client's needs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quotation generation to ensure smooth and timely business process flow by working with appropriate staff and partner laboratories.
  • Assist with proposal tracking.
  • Update SalesForce, as needed, and ensure accuracy of departmental information.
  • May (based on business unit and/or team expectation) be responsible for managing opportunities of low to medium complexity.
  • May (based on business unit and/or team expectation) shadow and/or assist more senior colleagues on opportunities of medium to high complexity.
  • Participate in Business Operations departmental initiatives.
  • Assist in preparation of departmental reports, as assigned.
  • Provide back-up assistance for other departmental functions, when needed.
  • Perform all other related duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in science, business, or marketing related discipline. At least 1 year of experience within a pharmaceutical; clinical research or healthcare environment, preferably in a Proposals role or very similar. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Skills and Ability
  • Ability to perform calculations and manage budgets. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to budget management for clinical trials.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint, as well as an aptitude for learning new database software quickly. SalesForce and SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or clinical research protocols. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
