We're looking for an ALEKS Sales Specialist to work with colleges and universities across the states of Virginia and North Carolina.

How can you make an impact?
Reporting to the Director, Sales Programs in our Higher Education Sales Organization, as an ALEKS Sales Specialist you will be responsible for working in the field as a sales driver to close high potential, high-volume opportunities that will contribute to market share and sales revenue growth. You will work with a team of Learning Technology Representatives to drive sales and increase market share in Math and Chemistry regionally.

This is a remote position with 60% travel open to applicants authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This territory includes the states of Virginia and North Carolina. Candidates must reside within the territory to be considered for the opportunity. A valid driver's license is required for this position. 

What can you expect from the position?

  • Collaborate with Learning Technology Representatives to drive sales and expand market share in Math and Chemistry within your region.
  • Develop and execute targeted strategies for high-potential accounts, in partnership with district and regional leadership teams.
  • Work closely with the Math and Chemistry product teams to launch successful campaigns, win new business, grow existing accounts, and retain market share.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of Math, Chemistry, and Placement disciplines, including McGraw-Hill’s products, competitor offerings, market trends, and customer behavior.
  • Share insights from the field with product teams to enhance product positioning and strategy.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales to create and implement training plans for Learning Technology Representatives.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing feedback to develop the skills and performance of the sales team.
  • Identify and prioritize top accounts, developing tailored strategies to secure business and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with product teams to build community engagement and cultivate future opportunities.
  • Organize and lead regional events to connect with key decision-makers and strengthen relationships within the educational community.

What can you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 4+ years of related experience, which could include working with customers in educational publishing, educational software publishing, and/or providing training in corporate or educational settings.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with employees and customers at all levels, including the ability to give clear precise instructions that are readily understandable by non-technical users.
  • An innovative and creative customer-centric approach.
  • A problem-solving attitude and attitude with rigorous attention to details in all aspects of the job is essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and webinar hosting services a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% and live at 1 hour or less from a major airport. A valid driver's license is required to perform this role.

The pay range for this position is between $85,000 - $95,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual sales incentive plan is provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
