The Role: 

We are looking for Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis Tooling and Operations to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team. As a Manager, FP&A Tooling and Ops, you'll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems. 

In this role, you will be the technical backbone of our planning environment, specifically focused on the administration and hands-on configuration of Pigment. We need someone who can take the lead on keeping our models fast, scalable, and well-governed. You won't just be managing a tool in a vacuum; you'll be a core partner to our FP&A team, sitting down with FP&A Business Partners to understand their goals and translating those into sophisticated, high-performance models.

Your goal is to ensure our planning processes aren't just functional, but actually drive business value by providing clear, actionable insights. Whether it's optimizing a headcount model or architecting a new revenue forecast, you'll be the person making sure our technical setup matches our strategic ambition

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering directly with Financial Planning & Analysis Business Partners to decode evolving business requirements. You won't just build what is asked; you will consult on best practices to ensure models drive actionable business value and executive-level insights.
  • Storytelling and translating financial data for executives/management to make strategic decisions.
  • Creating and maintaining Pigment models, dimensions, metrics, and complex formulas to support business processes.
  • Managing data imports, exports, API integrations, and ETL processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Troubleshooting calculation issues, supporting business users, and documenting model logic.
  • Partner with the FP&A team to implement new use cases and enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in an analytical or technical field (finance, business administration, data analytics, engineering, etc.).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working for a large public technology company or relevant consulting experience in finance tooling, transformation, or similar.
  • 2+ years of proven experience working with Pigment FP&A tool, ideally in the business administrator function.
  • 5+ years working with EPM software
  • Experience with executive-level messaging and presentations
  • Past experience partnering with FP&A or Finance teams to translate business needs into technical models.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, APIs, and complex formulas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a financial planning & analysis capacity; familiarity with budgeting and strategic planning processes
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI or a similar enterprise BI tool (Tableau, Domo)
  • Familiarity with quantum computing and a demonstrated interest and ability to learn technical concepts


The approximate base salary range for this position is $111,692 - $145,649. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, equity, and a range of benefit options found on our career site.
