Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking a qualified Project Scheduler. The ideal candidate has a solid project planning and scheduling background with specific strengths in managing multiple complex projects, identifying schedule risks and opportunities to accelerate schedule, and rapid solutions involving multiple groups/organizations. This position will support a large portfolio of first-of-their-kind systems in all stages of development, and will work closely with external organizations and stakeholders in addition to the HII project management team. This individual must be able to work with technical experts to accurately scope tasks and resources and capture task dependencies. The ideal candidate has an outstanding ability to proactively communicate via virtual meetings and email with vendors and partners in remote locations, tireless focus on the mission and making projects a reality, and an innovative and strategic mindset to find solutions to challenging problems.

This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and is within a commutable distance from Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for providing scheduling support for coordination of programs across all phases, both internal and with several subcontractors.

  • Build WBS and project schedules based on Statement of Work (SOW) and stakeholder inputs
  • Proactively identify schedule opportunities and risks, along with potential mitigations
  • Assist program leadership in deconflicting personnel and facility resources between multiple projects
  • Schedule major meetings and test events based on project needs and key personnel availability.
  • Create schedule summary visualizations and narratives to communicate schedule status to leadership, project team, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform "what if" analyses to show schedule impacts of potential courses of action
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Experience developing and managing schedules using Microsoft Project for complex projects covering engineering development, software development, and manufacturing.
  • CLEARANCE : Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance with enhanced security checks.

  • Developing resource-loaded schedules, labor estimates, and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for proposal purposes
