Institute for Trauma Research Intern
Department: Humanities
Location: Majority Remote

Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educationalcommunity, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students withvarious needs and backgrounds. This is apart-time, student employment position with no benefits.
TheResearch Intern will support the Director of the Institute for Trauma,Adversity, and Resilience in Higher Education with research for the institute'sonline collection of resources. The goal is for this collection to be anopen resource for others in higher education and will include articles, booksuggestions, event notices, and other resources related to trauma-informededucational practice.
KeyResponsibilities and Duties:
  • Conduct research to identify current, high-quality resources on trauma-informed practice particularly as it relates to higher education;
  • One or more trainings with library staff to learn basic and advanced research skills;
  • Write short summary of selected sources;
  • Regular meetings with director to update with resources;
  • Additional research and Institute support as needed including reporting and writing on focus groups;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Interest in trauma, neurobiology, learning;
  • 3.5 or higher GPA;
  • Reliable, independently motivated, effective communicator.

PreferredQualifications:
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
  • Demonstrates commitment to working with students in need.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $19.00 - 20.00 Hourly Wage

Source of Funding: Federal Work Study
Deadline: October 14th, or thereafter until filled.
Hiring is subject to state appropriation funding.
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI clearance.
