Help
  • You will evaluate and conduct special studies of training techniques and lesson plans to ensure risk assessment and safety responsibilities are defined and administered.
  • You will provide safety training and oversight of non-tactical operations.
  • You will develop lesson plans, support materials, and training schedules.
  • You will provide safety consultation and assistance to commanders, organizational safety managers, department heads, and supervisors in the application of Marine Corps safety programs.
  • You will assist in the development of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to be qualified to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and be qualified for "Duty in the Field" to include road marches, field exercises and other combat training evolutions.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination and pass periodic retests as required.

Qualifications
GS-11
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing occupational health and safety programs; conducting hazard assessments and mishap investigations; enforcing safety policies and procedures; implementing safety training programs; and advising on occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
GS-09
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supporting occupational health and safety programs, supporting hazard assessments and mishap investigations for a safety and occupational health program; preparing or revising safety instructions and guides; advising on occupational health and safety regulations and practices.

  • Successful completion of a a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology; or
  • Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology; or
