Responsibilities
Millennium is seeking a REMOTE AWS DevOps Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) Expeditionary Enterprise Systems and Services (E2S2) Division. NIWC Atlantic provides design, acquisition, and sustainment services for Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Information Technology (IT) systems).
This is a mid-to-senior level engineering position that focuses on the design, optimization, and sustainment of AWS cloud environments for the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC). The engineer will act as a bridge between technical infrastructure management and federal compliance, ensuring high performance, security, and availability within a fast-paced, government-contracted environment.
*An active Secret clearance is required for consideration*
The AWS DevOps Engineer will:
  • Engineer and maintain optimal performance and availability of customer AWS environments using IaC and automation.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide support for technical hurdles related to cloud systems.
  • Work closely with IT stakeholders, developers, security analysts, and project managers to align infrastructure with business goals.
  • Lead automation initiatives and provide guidance/mentoring to junior engineering staff.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture decisions, automation processes, and compliance artifacts.

Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (Degree must be ABET-accredited; degree from a regionally accredited institution)
  • 10+ years of software or network engineering experience with a Master's degree or 14+ years with a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining software, network solutions, and specialized applications
  • Current CompTIA Security+ and Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certifications
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform/CloudFormation, Python, Bash, or PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, Transit Gateway, VPN)
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator)
  • ITIL or PMP certification
  • Experience managing production Kubernetes environments
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, or ELK Stack
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud or DevSecOps environments

This position is remote but visits to customer site (Charleston, SC) will be required. Currently, customer site visits for Program Increment Planning occur four times per year, one week each.
Business Development
Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time.

COMPENSATION:
$145,000- $150,000
