About this Job Section 30 - Location/Survey S30/50695618/BAS/5.20.26-BH Business Analytic Specialist (Statewide Mapping) About this Position: This position leads and improves efficiency and effectiveness of the LA DOTD Remote Sensing Unit for the Statewide Mapping Program collection efforts. The position consults with counterparts in the Data Collection and Management Systems (Section 21) to provide DOTD with the most accurate remotely sensed Geographic Information Systems (GIS) imaging data, which is used by the department, external contractors, the Federal Government, and the public. Also, this position acts as a liaison to the Statewide Topographic Mapping Program's future collection and future planning and facilitates our collection efforts with all State and Federal partners related to the program

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Coordinates, reviews and analyzes data concerning program's collection aspects of Statewide Topographic Mapping projects, including compliance with quality and specifications. Collaborates with staff, consultants, and other partners assigned to various projects, particularly with Section 21 - Data Collection unit for data consolidation and Section 30 - Location and Survey's Photogrammetry unit in support of the Statewide Topographic Mapping Program.

Presents and produces special mapping requests to the Office of the Secretary or LA DOTO Legal Section. Prepares short and long-range planning of collection efforts of LA DOTO LiDAR and aerial photo collection Conducts periodic and comprehensive evaluations of ongoing collections of LiDAR and Photogrammetry for the statewide mapping program to ensure the organization meets its stated goals. Serves as the designated DOTO representative to federal, state and local agencies, the LiDAR GIS industry and the public.

Prepares or provides expert guidance in the preparation of contracts, memorandums of understanding, and task orders for consultants and other partners to obtain and supply geospatial data for use in the Statewide Topographic Mapping Program and confirms they adhere to deliverables. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a promotion or Detail to Special Duty and is only open to current permanent classified DOTD employees only.
