The Role

Reporting to Senior Management, this role serves as the go-to advisor on gas distribution materials, category strategy, and sourcing, bridging Supply Chain, Contracts, Sales, and Operations. You'll bring deep product and market expertise to guide decisions, support strategic initiatives, and strengthen vendor and customer relationships across the business.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor across Supply Chain, Contracts, and other internal groups on gas distribution materials and sourcing strategy
  • Own key vendor relationships and act as the primary technical resource for gas utility customers
  • Advise on product specifications for meters, regulators, risers, prefabricated meter sets, PE pipe, and PE fittings
  • Translate customer and internal stakeholder needs into sourcing solutions and recommendations
  • Deliver market insight and guidance on gas materials commodities and manufacturer trends
  • Partner with Sales and Operations on project bids, pricing strategy, and manufacturer negotiations
  • Provide local leadership for Supply Chain, aligned with Global Corporate SCM direction
  • Build and maintain category management plans grounded in commodity and market expertise
  • Lead strategic analyses, market sizing, vendor and competitor profiling, and profitability analysis
  • Maintain inventory strategy, pricing records, and product catalogs in partnership with corporate goals
  • Travel periodically to manufacturer sites, customer locations, and trade shows

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in engineering or gas materials
  • MUST HAVE: 5+ years supporting gas distribution utility materials
  • Demonstrated product knowledge of gas distribution material specifications (required)
  • 5+ years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services, with progressive leadership experience
  • Strong computer and software proficiency
  • Ability to work legally in the U.S. and communicate fluently in English
