Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, costs, and resources to provide accurate estimates for a range of projects, including electrical, manufacturing, automation, and physical security. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Prepare bid proposals and presentations.
  • Obtain and analyze vendor quotes for materials and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and cost-saving measures.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of estimating processes and tools.
  • Visit job sites as needed to assess existing conditions and gather information.
  • Analyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3 years of experience as an estimator in electrical services, with a strong understanding of estimating software and tools.
  • Skills:
    • Full estimating capabilities.
    • Exercise independents
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficient in cost estimating tools and software
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, construction practices, and cost structures.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Certifications and Bonus Qualifications (Optional):
    • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent certification.
    • Experience with automation and control systems (PLC programming, SCADA, HMI).
    • Knowledge of instrumentation and process control.
    • Formal electrical training or certification (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Engineering Technology diploma).
Office Location and Travel:
This position offers flexible work arrangements, with office locations in Wasilla, Anchorage, as well as a hybrid work option that includes both in-office and remote work. Occasional travel to local and out of state business sites, conferences, and meetings may be requested.
