Job description
SAIC currently has an opening for a Software Tester to support the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
Please note this role is fully remote.
Job Description:
- The candidate for this position will provide Software Testing for Army Aviation Maintenance Software that support organizations under the Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation and Missile Center
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web-based applications
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Document test results, track defects, and verify resolution through collaboration with developers
- Document defects clearly and track them through resolution
- Validate data integrations with SQL databases
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other testers during sprint activities
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Update test-related tasks and statuses on the sprint board
- Support help desk investigations by reproducing and documenting reported issues
- Support test automation initiatives where applicable
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; six (6) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle)

Required Clearance:
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance required, Secret Clearance Preferred; US Citizenship required
Required Skills:
- Experience performing software testing for web applications
- Familiarity with Agile software development environments
- Experience with test management or issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TFS)
- Understanding of C#, .NET Framework/.NET 8+ environments at a level sufficient to test functionality
- Ability to write clear, repeatable test cases and evaluate software behavior against requirements
- Basic understanding of SQL for test data validation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to continually improve testing processes, tools, and personal skillset

- Work with Dev lead to organize, plan, and set schedules
- Update Technical Data Package (TDP) documents to include: test plan, test description, test report, requirements traceability, etc
