Position Overview
The Manual Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce precision metal components. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards.
Core Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
  • Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material specifications
  • Maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
  • Deburr, clean, and finish machined parts as required
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
