Job description

If you're a civil litigation attorney who wants to manage a caseload independently while keeping the flexibility to work from anywhere in Southern California, this opportunity offers a growing litigation team, a revenue-based bonus structure with real upside, and long-term stability with an established, full-service firm.

What's in it for you? You'll handle civil litigation matters from intake through resolution with genuine autonomy, supported by partners and colleagues when you need them. After a short onboarding period in the Riverside office, you're free to work remotely from anywhere in Southern California. Base salary runs $125,000–$175,000 DOE, and the firm leans heavily on bonus to reward performance: 25% of qualifying billed and collected revenue after deductions, with no hard billable-hour minimum. Attorneys who perform well often land total compensation well above flat-salary options elsewhere.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience (5 years ideal)
  • Insurance defense, public entity defense, general liability, or premises liability experience a strong fit
  • Workers' compensation or plaintiff PI attorneys with transferable litigation skills also considered
  • Trial experience preferred but not required
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active California bar membership in good standing
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills

The Role

  • Manage civil litigation matters from investigation through settlement, trial, or appeal
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct and defend depositions and handle discovery-related motion practice
  • Represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations in state and federal court
  • Conduct legal research and negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
  • Maintain client communication and organized case files, meeting court deadlines

The position is based out of Riverside, CA for initial onboarding, with remote flexibility thereafter from anywhere in Southern California, given the concentration of the firm's clients and court appearances in the region. Productivity is measured by billed and collected revenue rather than a strict billable-hour minimum, with approximately 1,920 hours considered a traditional production level.

Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with firm matching, life insurance, long-term disability coverage, PTO, ten paid holidays, marketing and business development support, and opportunities for professional development and cross-office collaboration.

Salary Range: $125,000–$175,000
