Job description

We are seeking a skilled Hydrographer to join our team. The ideal candidate can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will travel to jobsites to perform field hydrographic surveys, post-process data, and report findings.
Hydrographer Responsibilities:
  • Conducting hydrographic and bathymetric surveys, including data collection and processing.
  • Calibration and troubleshooting of dredge positioning systems.
  • Reporting survey results and sediment sampling data to colleagues and supervisors.
  • Verifying survey data accuracy and preparing related documentation.
  • Using advanced surveying instruments and GPS technologies for precise measurements.
  • Coordinating with engineering and technical teams, clients, and others.
  • Training and supervising assistants in survey tasks.
  • Researching and developing survey methods and instrument modifications.
  • Traveling frequently (75-100% of the time).

Hydrographer Qualifications:
  • 3-5 Years of experience within the hydrographic industry preferred.
  • S. or B.S. in Surveying and Mapping, Natural Resources or similar curriculum preferred.
  • Professional state license and or nationally recognized hydrographic certification preferred.
  • Experience utilizing bathymetric survey tools including single-beam and multi-beam echo-sounders.
  • Strong technical skills in hydrographic surveying and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in using GPS technologies, total stations, and leveling instruments.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing survey data and reports.
  • Ability to travel extensively for fieldwork.
