Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify and evaluate clients' social, emotional, and environmental challenges impacting their academic success and overall well-being.
• Develop personalized service plans encompassing goals, interventions, and tracking mechanisms that align with individual client needs.
• Provide individual and family counseling aimed at navigating life’s challenges, fostering coping strategies, and enhancing resilience.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure seamless access to community resources, educational services, and support programs.
• Deliver immediate crisis intervention as needed, including risk assessments and safety planning, ensuring the well-being of at-risk youth.
• Engage with community organizations and agencies to coordinate services, advocate for clients, and enhance the network of support.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about available services and promote the mission of Focused Mind Counseling.
• Attend case conferences, team meetings, and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and policy changes impacting service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Master Social Worker will primarily serve students and their families who face various adversities impacting their academic performance and mental health. This role directly contributes to enhancing the educational experience for students by addressing social and emotional barriers, providing a systematic approach to support, and integrating services to improve overall family dynamics.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
• Strong communication skills, cultural competence, and an empathetic approach to working with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and community resources relevant to social justice and client advocacy.

Preferred Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a social service agency or similar environment, particularly in educational or community-based settings.
• Knowledge of best practices related to meeting the needs of children and families in crisis.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and case management software.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonuses.
