Job description

Amundsen Davis, a full-service business law firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Cleveland office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the litigation process, support a diverse caseload, and work closely with attorneys to provide exceptional legal support on a Transportation team. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment and bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, subpoenas, and correspondence with accuracy and timeliness
  • File legal documents in state and federal courts, including electronic filings, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures
  • Support attorneys in managing litigation cases from inception to resolution, including expert retention and case calendar management
  • Coordinate the discovery process by drafting/responding to requests, organizing documents, and preparing document productions
  • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations, supporting litigation matters
  • Assist with trial, hearing, and arbitration preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating with witnesses and experts
  • Maintain and organize both electronic and physical case files for accuracy, completeness, and accessibility

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department, preferred
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents, legal research, and applying litigation procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential matters
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case/document management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, demonstrating initiative and reliability
