Key Responsibilities

• Client Assessment: Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of new clients to determine their mental health status and immediate treatment needs. This involves utilizing standardized assessment tools and active listening techniques.
• Therapy Development: Create personalized therapy plans based on client assessments, integrating evidence-based practices tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances.
• Ongoing Support: Schedule regular follow-up sessions to monitor client progress, provide therapeutic interventions, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaboration: Work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, ensuring comprehensive care through referrals and shared patient insights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work closely with a diverse client demographic, including individuals facing depression, anxiety, and behavioral disorders, as well as those recovering from substance abuse. Our practice is committed to cultural sensitivity and tailoring therapeutic approaches to resonate with our clients’ backgrounds and values.

Qualifications

• Education: A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: A valid and active licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of four years of related clinical experience is required, demonstrating a deep understanding of mental health disorders.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document client interactions and maintain detailed treatment records.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with individual and group therapy delivery, especially using evidence-based models that address varied client needs.
• Strong crisis intervention experience, with the ability to manage high-stress scenarios while providing a calming presence for clients.
• A demonstrated ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele and maintain professional boundaries.
