The Role

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability, scalability, and performance of the OnPay platform. You will focus on building and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure, optimizing DevOps practices, and ensuring our systems can scale to meet growing customer demand. We are looking for a specialist who can champion automation, manage containerized environments, and lead the technical direction of our production infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud architecture using AWS or GCP.

  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and deployment.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Maintain and orchestrate containerized environments using Docker.

  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, identifying and mitigating risks.

  • Establish and enforce security best practices across the infrastructure stack.

  • Manage and optimize database infrastructure (MySQL, Mongo, Redis) for high availability.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system observability and incident response.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and production support.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Prior Payroll or HRIS experience is a plus

  • Expertise in AWS or GCP cloud architecture and service management.

  • Advanced experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. Nomad experience is a plus.

  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

  • Strong proficiency with database technologies like MySQL and Mongo. Experience with MySQL replication is required.

  • Deep understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

  • Experience with system monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (Prometheus, ELK).

  • Strong background in Linux systems administration and network security.

Compensation includes a base salary range of $150k-$195k. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
