Job Description:About the Role:

As an OPIS Carbon Markets Reporter, you will collect and analyze carbon credit trade data to assess daily pricing indexes for voluntary and U.S. compliance carbon markets. You will contribute to spot and feature news reporting on carbon credit prices, market fundamentals as well as the fast-changing landscape for climate programs. You will report to the Director - Price Reporter.

You Will:
  • Collect and analyze spot market price transactions from industry participants
  • Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to DJE pricing methodology to create daily price assessments
  • Generate breaking and feature news alerts on carbon markets, clean energy and environmental sustainability initiatives and legislation that impacts pricing
  • Research and report on new developments in carbon policies and programs
  • Contribute to social media content, blog postings, industry analysis and publish reports
  • Network and develop sources in the carbon industry
You Have:
  • At least 3 years journalism or market analysis experience, preferably in the environmental, commodities, or financial sector
  • Price reporting experience covering carbon markets (cap-and-trade/cap-and -invest/voluntary), emissions reduction markets, or commodity market fundamentals
  • Experience breaking down complex regulatory and market issues into accurate and easily understood content
  • Developed sources and actively engaged with market contacts and stakeholders
  • Analyzed data and market drivers quickly with the use of Excel and spreadsheets
  • Bachelor's degree -or- equivalent work experience
