Job description

PR Specialist
Seeking.com | Full-Time, Exempt, Remote (US) | Reports to: PR Manager
About the Role
Seeking.com is the world's largest premium dating platform, and we are in the middle of the most important chapter of our brand transformation. You will not be coordinating from the sidelines. You will be pitching journalists, drafting press releases, and running the day-to-day operations of our member casting book.
This is the right role for an ambitious specialist who wants to be promoted to PR Manager in two to three years, and who knows that the way to get there is by doing the work.
Core Responsibilities
Writing, Pitching & Media Relations
• Draft press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, op-eds, Q&As, fact sheets, executive bios, and briefing books for review
• Pitch journalists, editors, podcast bookers, producers, bloggers, and influencers directly on the beats you own
• Build and grow personal media relationships across dating, lifestyle, business, consumer tech, and culture beats
• Maintain personal media-readiness: keep talking points current and be comfortable on camera and in audio
• Respond to inbound media requests with speed and route information across the company • Identify and act on PR opportunities through Qwoted, HARO, and similar platforms daily • Help trend-hijack: bring at least two news-cycle insertion opportunities to the Senior PR Manager every week with a draft pitch attached
• Edit and proofread your own work and your peers' work to AP-style standard before it goes to management
• Complete media training as the company offers it
Member Casting & Storyteller Book
• Run the day-to-day operations of the member casting book under management's direction • Recruit members into the book continuously
• Vet members for media-readiness, brief them on outlet, journalist, angle, and message tracks before every press interaction
• Match the right member to the right journalist request and coordinate availability inside hours • Manage all NDAs, consent forms, and post-interview follow-ups for member interviewees • Keep the casting book tagged, searchable, and current
•Co-CEO & Executive Visibility Support
• Help build the pipeline of podcast, interview, and speaking opportunities for our Co-CEOs • Draft briefing materials, narrative arcs, and message tracks for executive appearances • Research awards relevant to the brand and prepare submissions for the manager's review • Coordinate stage and panel opportunities at relevant conferences
Trend-Mining & Cultural Listening
• Monitor news, newsletters, X, and competitor PR daily across dating, relationships, lifestyle, business, and tech
• Maintain a running calendar of recurring cultural moments and pre-build pitches around them • Track competitor PR activity and flag where they are taking share of conversation we should be contesting
Operations, Reporting & Asset Management
• Maintain media lists, pitch calendars, journalist contact databases, and CRM tracking • Maintain the PR asset library: approved imagery, boilerplates, key messaging, executive bios, and media kits
• Monitor daily media coverage using Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, Google Alerts, and similar tools
• Compile weekly coverage summaries and contribute to monthly PR reports • Maintain SOPs and process documentation for recurring workflows
• Help maintain crisis communication resources and contact lists
Required Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of experience in PR (agency or in-house), journalism, or communications • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent professional track record
• Demonstrated track record contributing to or personally securing media coverage (regional, trade, or national outlets)
• Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of work you can point to
• Working knowledge of Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, or equivalent, plus Qwoted/HARO, plus AP style
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience at a top consumer or lifestyle PR agency
• AI fluency. You already use ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or similar tools to research, draft first passes, build media lists, and analyze coverage
• Newsroom experience as a reporter or junior editor
• Existing relationships with dating, relationships, lifestyle, business, or consumer tech beat reporters
• Experience with member, customer, or talent casting for media stories
• Comfort with reputation work for brands that carry public-perception baggage Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience
• Full-time, exempt, fully remote within the US
• Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and standard benefits package
• A manager who will actively coach you and a real path to Senior PR Manager
