What is a remote life science?

A Remote Life Science job involves working in the fields of biology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related disciplines from a remote location. These roles can include research, data analysis, regulatory affairs, medical writing, or sales within the life sciences industry. Advances in technology allow professionals to conduct virtual experiments, collaborate with teams globally, and analyze complex biological data remotely. Many remote positions require strong communication skills, proficiency in digital tools, and a solid understanding of scientific principles. Companies hiring for these roles may include pharmaceutical firms, biotech startups, academic institutions, and research organizations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote life science position?

To excel in a Remote Life Science role, candidates typically need a background in biology, chemistry, or a related field along with strong analytical and research skills. Familiarity with industry-standard tools like electronic lab notebooks, statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python), and relevant certifications such as a Life Sciences degree or specialized credentials may be required. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, time management, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and project deadlines. These qualifications are vital for producing high-quality scientific work while effectively collaborating within virtual, multidisciplinary teams.

What are the typical challenges of working remotely in a life science role?

One of the main challenges of working remotely in a Life Science role is maintaining effective communication and collaboration with team members who may be located in different time zones or regions. Remote professionals must also adapt to working independently with minimal supervision, ensuring they stay organized and meet deadlines for research, analysis, or reporting. Utilizing collaboration tools, project management platforms, and virtual meetings becomes essential to stay engaged with colleagues and up-to-date on project progress. Despite these challenges, remote roles offer enhanced flexibility and often allow for a greater focus on in-depth research or data analysis, contributing to both personal and professional growth in the life sciences field.

Job description

Job Title: Manager, Network Planning & Operations
Location: Atlanta, GA, New York, NY, or Remote, USA
Role Type: Full-Time Salaried
Who We Are
Impiricus is the first and only AI-powered HCP Engagement Engine. In 2025, Deloitte named Impiricus the #1 fastest growing company in North America for their prestigious Fast 500 list. Founded by a practicing physician and a senior pharmaceutical executive, Impiricus was created to transform how life sciences companies support physicians. We ethically connect HCPs to pharma resources, reduce go-to-market costs and accelerate patient access to the treatments they need.
With our unique access to the largest opted-in network of HCPs, their insights, and clinical expertise, we are the leading provider of AI technology and real-time channels that life science companies need to deliver clear, reliable, and evidence-based resources directly into the hands of HCPs. Guided by a council of 2000+ trusted HCP advisors, we ensure every interaction is clinically meaningful, ethically grounded and leads to better patient care.
Job Summary:
Impiricus is looking for a Manager, Network Planning & Operations to own the supply side of our HCP network. As our client base grows and campaign volume scales, we're building a dedicated network planning function to ensure HCP capacity keeps pace with demand. You'll sit within Operations, at the intersection of Analytics and Commercial Ops, partnering closely with Sales and Data & Analytics to keep capacity planning accurate and proactive.
Responsibilities:
Sale Support
  • Contribute supply-side data to RFP responses and support a scalable deal sign-off workflow.
  • Validate proposed deals against available capability; surface potential conflicts early and collaborate with Sales to resolve potential constraints
  • Consult on target list design and creation using internal and 3rd party data sources

Client Services and Delivery Support
  • Own provider availability and inventory checks end-to-end, assessing HCP supply against campaign requirements and flagging constraints before they become delivery issues.

Analytics & Performance Management
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics to align our inventory tooling with network forecasting.
  • Serve as the operational bridge between Analytics, Commercial Ops, and CS on inventory-related questions.
  • Deliver recurring inventory reporting to commercial leadership to help inform sales strategy and prioritization
  • Monitor network health indicators and work with commercial teams to react appropriately

Qualifications:
  • 2+ Years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, capacity management, or a related operations discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable with data tools to run searches, interpret outputs, and deliver clear recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive; able to manage competing priorities and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharma, or data-driven B2B is a plus
  • Energized by building structure and process in a high-growth environment.

The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000.
Where you land within the range will reflect your skills, experience, and location, while keeping team parity in mind and leaving room for future growth.
Benefits:
Impiricus focuses on taking care of our teammates' professional and personal growth and well-being.
Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents + on-demand healthcare concierge
HSA, FSA & DCFSA: Pre-tax savings options for healthcare and dependent care, with monthly employer contributions to HSA (if enrolled in a high-deductible plan)
Coverage & Protection: 100% paid short- and long-term disability, plus life and AD&D insurance
Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need with a flexible vacation policy - recharge your batteries your way
Parental Leave: Parental Leave: Paid parental leave to spend time with your newborn, adopted, or foster child (available after 6 months).
Your Work, Your Way: If you're close to an office, we encourage spending some time in-person to collaborate and connect. If not, remote is always an option.
Home Office Setup: We'll ship you the gear you need to create a comfortable workspace at home.
401(k): Save for your future with tax advantages (and company match!)
