El Centro Behavioral Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our expanding team. This is a full-time remote position that allows our counselors to provide essential mental health services from the comfort of their homes while making a positive impact on the lives of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field and hold appropriate independent licenses such as LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT.

As a fully remote position, our Mental Health Counselor role allows for flexibility in work hours while maintaining a strong connection with peers and supervisors through virtual collaboration tools. With advanced telehealth systems in place, you will be equipped with the necessary technology to facilitate smooth consultations, appointments, and charting.

• Provide clinical consultation to other clinical staff regarding mental health issues affecting various patient populations, including geriatric clients and those struggling with substance use disorders.
• Interpret and communicate essential information about patients and their families, including social history information, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Facilitate the planning, recommendation, and decision-making processes regarding individual patient care plans, particularly focusing on their home environments and support systems.
• Regularly conduct treatment planning sessions and review cases for providers to ensure effective and personalized care.
• Document treatment sessions and interactions with clients efficiently and accurately, contributing to case continuity and provider collaboration.
• Take on additional duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to team goals.

Your primary focus will be on a diverse range of clients, including geriatric clients and individuals facing substance use issues. You will utilize a trauma-informed approach to deliver empathetic and individualized support. As mental health disorders can manifest differently across various demographics, your ability to adapt and apply different therapeutic modalities will be crucial to achieving positive outcomes.

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• Possession of an independent license is mandatory; candidates must have LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT credentials.
• Proven ability to effectively complete detailed progress notes and documentation after client sessions to maintain continuity of care.

• Experience working with geriatric populations and those struggling with substance use is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with telehealth services and remote counseling platforms will be beneficial.
• Strong skills in communication, case management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams are preferred.
