El Centro Behavioral Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our expanding team. This remote position allows behavioral health professionals to provide essential support and care to a diverse client base from the comfort of their own home. Work Environment

This role is fully remote, providing flexibility and convenience for our staff while ensuring we maintain effective communication and collaboration within our team. As part of our outpatient office, you will engage with clients through telehealth platforms, ensuring they receive timely and professional support. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Offer clinical consultation to fellow staff members, sharing insights and best practices for addressing mental health issues across diverse populations.
• Interpret and relay critical information regarding patients and their families, including social history and treatment progress, to ensure cohesive care coordination.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, actively involving patients in their care while considering their home environment and support systems.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, offering recommendations that enhance treatment strategies and patient outcomes.
• Document therapeutic activities, maintaining accurate and timely progress notes to track client developments and treatment adjustments effectively.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to stay abreast of current best practices in mental health counseling.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that contribute to the overall functioning of the organization and the quality of client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients at El Centro Behavioral Center include a wide array of populations, from children facing developmental and emotional challenges to adults with complex mental health and substance abuse issues. Our counselors will be required to demonstrate cultural competence, treating all clients with dignity and respect while considering their individual backgrounds and circumstances. Our focus on collaboration means counselors work closely with families and other support networks to promote holistic healing and well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• Active and independent licensure in New York State, including LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT.
• Excellent documentation skills to efficiently complete progress notes and treatment plans in alignment with organizational standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in an outpatient mental health setting or similar environment.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities relevant to diverse populations.
• Experience in crisis intervention and risk assessment is advantageous.
