The Role

We are seeking a visionary, hands-on Director of Design / UX to champion the next evolution of Sycle’s SaaS Audiology Practice Management platform. In this role, you will lead, inspire, and grow our design team while actively driving our design strategy.

Your immediate mission will be to audit, modernize, and refresh our design templates, translating complex clinical and administrative workflows into elegant, intuitive user experiences. You will collaborate deeply with Software Development and Product Management to build, implement, and maintain a unified style guide and scalable design system that ensures consistency across our entire global application.

One possible location for this hybrid role is Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities

Experience

  • SaaS/B2B Leadership: 8+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or player-coach role managing product designers.
  • Untangling Legacy Systems: Proven experience navigating and modernizing platforms with legacy code. Experience working in an environment transitioning towards a microservices architecture is a major plus.
  • Healthcare/Clinical Tech Experience (Highly Preferred): Experience designing for digital health, EHR/EMR systems, practice management software, or highly complex, regulated SaaS environments (e.g., HIPAA compliance, accessibility/WCAG standards).
  • Proven Design System Execution: A proven track record of successfully building, launching, and maintaining a design system/component library in close partnership with front-end engineering teams.

Skills

  • Tools: Mastery of industry-standard product design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Claude, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar advanced UI/UX ecosystems), alongside standard documentation and collaboration platforms.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong conceptual and working understanding of front-end and web technologies. You should feel comfortable collaborating with engineers working across a modern stack.
  • Influence & Communication: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; ability to articulate the business value of design to executives, developers, and customers alike.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field; or equivalent practical, industry-leading experience.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental and Vision: Sycle pays employee-only premium at 100% for base plans.
  • FSA: Pre-tax options for Health ($3,400/yr) and Dependent Care ($7,500/yr).
