Job description

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote University Counseling Center team. This full-time position offers professionals the opportunity to work primarily through Telehealth, addressing the mental health needs of college students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering student well-being and resilience, contributing to both academic success and personal growth.

About the Organization

At Gotham Enterprises Ltd, we operate a vibrant university counseling center dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and providing comprehensive support to our student population. Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing environment where students can thrive emotionally and academically. Our licensed therapists are crucial in delivering exceptional mental health services while partnering with faculty and staff to create a supportive campus culture.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible remote work environment, using Telehealth technologies to engage with students effectively. Counselors will benefit from ongoing training in digital counseling methods and will have access to high-quality resources and tools designed to enhance virtual therapy sessions. This innovative shift allows our team to maintain dynamic and productive therapeutic relationships, even from afar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and screenings to accurately assess and analyze students' mental health needs and establish tailored treatment plans.
  • Facilitate short-term individual counseling sessions and provide crisis intervention for students facing distressing circumstances, from academic stress to personal challenges.
  • Organize and lead therapeutic workshops and support groups focusing on topics relevant to student development, including stress management, relationship dynamics, and coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholdersโ€”academic advisors, residential life coordinators, and student organizationsโ€”to ensure a holistic approach to student mental health support.
  • Engage in active outreach initiatives, spearheading mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events to promote resources available to students.
  • Maintain meticulous case documentation and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards within a digital platform for record-keeping.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary clientele for this role will be university students, a demographic facing unique challenges related to academic pressures, social transitions, and personal development. Counselors will address a broad spectrum of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, and identity exploration, requiring sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is required.
  • A master's degree or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant fields is essential for this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the specific mental health issues facing college students and the application of evidence-based practices and brief therapy models.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required for building rapport with students and collaborating effectively with diverse campus groups.
Preferred Experience
  • Two years of relevant clinical experience, particularly within university or educational settings, is preferred to ensure familiarity with the campus culture and challenges.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and short-term therapy is highly valued in this role.
  • Knowledge of telehealth best practices and proficiency in digital therapy tools will provide a significant advantage in this position.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off to ensure work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for professional development, including access to workshops, training, and continuing education relevant to mental health counseling.
  • Engage in a vibrant work culture that emphasizes collaboration, learning, and the chance to contribute to impactful research initiatives in college counseling.
  • Access to university facilities, including libraries, health and wellness centers, and recreational options.
Career Growth Opportunities

Joining our team means gaining access to a multitude of career advancement opportunities designed to enhance professional qualifications and leadership skills. Counselors can pursue specialized certifications, lead workshops, and participate in university projects that contribute to their professional trajectory while affecting positive changes in the counseling profession.

Why Join Our Team

If you are a passionate and licensed mental health therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of college students, we invite you to join Gotham Enterprises Ltd. Our supportive and engaging work environment fosters collaboration and innovation, providing you an exceptional platform to thrive as a mental health professional. Together, we can help students achieve their full potentialโ€”academically, emotionally, and personally.
