Job Description

Under minimum supervision, this position will market and originate mortgage loans that meet regulatory and investor guidelines. The Loan Officer will independently source mortgage loan referrals and production from realtors, builders, financial professionals, and other nontraditional sources. Position can be based in Windsor, Madison or Appleton market.
Essential Functions

  • Develop lending relationships to self-source loan referrals to generate loan volume within the market area.
  • Educate prospective & existing partners of Wings mortgage programs & requirements.
  • Partner with mortgage business development team to engage in marketing and promotional activities to increase prospects.
  • Spend at least one or two hours a day, two or more times a week, outside of the office (including a home office building a referral network. )
  • Gather all necessary information and documentation for analysis, disclosure, and underwriting loan application.
  • Educate members regarding financing options, rates & products to ensure they receive the appropriate product to meet their needs.
  • Utilizes automated underwriting system as an underwriting tool to ensure borrower meets applicable loan guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements including state specific lending requirements for those states that Wings Credit Union offers financing, including attorney requirements and community property laws.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with member, realtor, underwriter, processor and closer to ensure closing dates are met.
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of visibility for Wings Credit Union in the marketplace.
  • Stay informed of investor guidelines, market conditions, and competitor rates & products to best align products with borrower needs.
  • Maintain a commitment to professional development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining business networks.
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Qualifications
  • College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of mortgage Loan Officer experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals.
  • Delivers premier customer service.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel; Word).
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, manage time, prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-motivated and having a high attention to detail are a necessity.
  • Bondable

Certifications Required:

  • Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan originator ("MLO) unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully completed all MLO Registry requirements, including passing background and credit checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E. Act. required

Pay - $66,000 annually plus incentives + 3% annual target bonus. Unlimited earning potential!
