Description
Hiring an Associate Attorney with experience in Trusts, Estates, and Elder Law
Position: Mid-Level Associate

Type: Full-Time; Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote)
This role is an excellent fit for an attorney who values meaningful client relationships, enjoys collaborating with a dedicated team, and takes pride in helping families make important decisions with confidence and peace of mind. Working alongside an experienced senior attorney, you will partner closely with paralegals and support staff to guide clients seamlessly through the estate planning process, from initial design meetings through plan signing and implementation. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and skilled at navigating sensitive conversations while providing clients with exceptional guidance, reassurance, and care.
Responsibilities

• Approaches estate planning as people-centered work rather than document production.
• Treats every client with respect and empathy.
• Demonstrates ownership, integrity, and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Provides clear drafting instructions and constructive feedback to paralegals and staff.
• Complex legal concepts are explained in plain language without sacrificing accuracy.
• Planning strategies appropriately address tax implications, fiduciary roles, guardianship considerations, and asset coordination.
• Signing meetings are conducted professionally and efficiently, with clients expressing clarity and confidence in their plan.
Qualifications
Our preferred candidate:
• Is an active member of the State Bar of Maryland.
• Has a minimum of 3 years of estate planning and/or estate administration experience.
• Has the capacity to handle cases and clients independently (after a period of orientation and monitored work).
• Shows compassion when dealing with clients and has a talent for winning their confidence and respect.
• Is willing to work hard to see that our clients receive top-notch service and results.
• Is proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
• Has character, intelligence, and integrity, and is someone who contributes positively to the atmosphere within the office.
• Is competent with technology, including Case Management Software, Google Workspace, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
