Summary
You will serve as a Administrative Assistant (OA) in the Marine Corps Base in Quantico of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

  • You will review and recommend changes to the Department/Division director for the Table of Organization and Equipment as necessary.
  • You will review outgoing correspondence to ensure correctness of punctuation, spelling, grammar, and conformance of style.
  • You will establish and maintain a filing system as prescribed by NAVMC Directive 5210.11, SECNAV M5210.2 and SECNAV M-5210.1 for official files and correspondence for the Department/Division.
  • You will greet and direct visitors to the appropriate staff memeber.
  • You will provide assistance, as required, in the formulation of the Office budget.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing direct administrative and personnel support, managing official correspondence, monitoring operating budgets, procuring supplies and equipment.
GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: operating office computers and related office equipment AND utilizing integrated software programs to perform a variety of clerical and administrative support functions.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination
