Position Overview

Energy Balance Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time position allows you to provide specialized mental health care to individuals who have experienced trauma, helping them navigate their healing journey.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule, which is primarily Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some degree of flexibility may be expected to accommodate the varying needs of our patients. You will engage with colleagues through virtual meetings, consultations, and collaborative efforts to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' histories and current states, informing appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Create and implement personalized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and client empowerment.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support clients in their healing journeys.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that promote the processing of trauma, development of coping skills, and overall healing.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated care plans for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring safety and immediate assistance.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and the resources available to them.
  • Maintain accurate and secure documentation following legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous education activities focused on trauma-informed care.
  • Stay current with research advancements and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care provided.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will work with range from adolescents to adults, many of whom have experienced significant trauma. Our therapy approaches prioritize creating a trusting relationship with clients, allowing them to feel safe while navigating their feelings and experiences. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience, with a strong preference for experience in trauma-focused therapy.
  • Solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment methods.
  • Proficient in the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and various computer applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment, fostering collaboration with diverse professionals.
